Throughout my maiden and mother years, I always felt like there was an internal battle or conflict going on between my Head and my Heart. My Mind was telling me “I’m not good enough” – while my Heart and Soul were trying to guide me towards embracing the true essence of who “I Am”.
My story Emerging from the Shadows represents my journey to discover and embrace the Essence or Āhuatanga of Mana Wahine. My sacred space of Mana Wahine is my inner sanctuary where I feel connected to Source – to my “I Am” presence, rather than the physical personality known as “Me” – the daughter, granddaughter, sister, niece, wife, mother, grandmother, partner, employee, author, life coach – this ‘personality’ that’s often weighed-down by all the labels that dominate my day to day existence.
My sacred space of Mana Wahine is not a physical place nor is it defined by labels or limitations. It’s a sanctuary within my Being where everything sacred and powerful resonates and reverberates – energised by my Wairua, my Mauri, my Mana – it’s my inner power source that drives the multi-dimensional energies and aspects of who I AM at the core of my Being. It’s my solid foundation where I ‘know and feel’ that I am connected to a much higher wisdom than my conscious Mind and Ego allows me to fathom. Infinite wisdom that’s available to all of us when we can ‘get out of our own way’ and allow this connection to take place.
This sacred space of Mana Wahine is where I feel safe and protected, and empowered. A place where I experience true conscious Freedom. Freedom from my thoughts and emotions, and a peaceful respite from the noise of Life. I love the silence of being in this space, and it is often in this silence that I hear the whispers of wisdom from my Soul.
I believe that Mana Wahine applies to all women irrespective of culture, race, color or creed because the feminine energy and Spiritual force of Papatuanuku (Mother Earth) is intrinsic in all of us. All we have to do is ’embrace our sacred space’ and trust our own innate wisdom – it’s always available to us – 24/7 and it’s free!
